If you're a fan of both cell phones and poker, then one way to find out about the latest goings-on in the world of poker is being provided by Bluff Magazine. The potential is there for the millions of poker fans in the U.S. who have cell phones and wish to receive news via their phone by text messaging to soon be able to receive messages on their phones about poker just as they now can about movie times. Poker fans simply send “POKERNEWS” and/or “POKERLIVE” to 67000 from their U.S.-based cell phone to receive the latest news, results and breaking stories directly on their phone.
Cross-carrier distribution and delivery of this new service in the U.S. is powered by mStyle. Text messaging and carrier fees may apply.“We are pleased to offer our readers, and all poker fans, access to the latest news and results from major poker tournaments,” said Eddie Kleid, President of Bluff Magazine.
The new SMS alerts are the second phase of the POKER! program to launch. The first phase was a dedicated mobile news, education and information WAP (Mobile internet) channel, which was launched in June and is now available on more than 150 million cellular telephones in the United States. It is located in the Sports sections on the WAP decks of a number of tier one carriers and can be found within the “World of Sport” or “International Sports” sections. A third stage of the POKER! Mobile program, consisting of downloadable wallpaper and screensavers, is planned for late summer. |
