| | | Don't forget that winning the lottery jackpot is sheer luck. One set of numbers is enough to win it. A few more selections may give you more hope and make you feel better, which is not bad. Playing too many selections is gambling against very high odds. Not a wise thing to do on a regular basis. | |

Life can take us on strange paths, as anyone who has ever unexpectedly won an online casino jackpot can attest to. Many are those who don't think of gambling as being anything more than a hobby, but many are also those who have seen the possibilities of becoming a professional gambler and, true to the gambler's nature, have taken the risk of a major change in their direction. This happens all across the world, especially in the United States, where poker is the king of card games. One example of a person who took the risk, from the San Francisco Bay Area in California, is Adam Kagin.
Just six months ago, Kagin, 28, was living what most would call a pretty routine life in Oakland, California, working for a financial services firm, defending the virtues of the Golden State Warriors, watching a little "Simpsons" and working on his golf handicap. "I never thought I could turn professional until a friend of mine suggested that I consider trying to do it full time," says Kagin. "I told him, 'No, no, no I have to use my education. I have to do this financial career.'"
"I wanted to work my way up and go back to school at UC Berkeley. ... I was going to go on that regular normal track and then this came along," said Kagin, who recently moved from Oakland to outside Las Vegas and will play in the Main Event of the World Series of Poker there this week. "I've made more money in a few months than I've ever made in a calendar year. I started off really, really well and in one month I grossed over $120,000. If you Google my name now, all this poker stuff comes up. It's been great." |
