| | | In the midst of playing Limit Hold'em ring games, if you are not the pre-flop raiser and if someone else raises pre-flop and only a few people see the flop, you can probably expect that person to bet at the flop, especially if that person is aggressive. Thus, in these circumstances, you can probably wait and go for the check-raise. | |

The Canadian province of Ontario may adopt a law prohibiting the advertising of any online casino in the province. The Liberal Party, which controls the provincial legislature, introduced the measure last week in an omnibus bill designed to improve public safety and costumer protection in the province. The measure regarding the advertising of an online casino simply states that it will be illegal to advertise on line gambling websites in the province of Ontario.
The Bill doesn't criminalize advertisement for just any online casino. If the law passes only an online casino of the pay-to-play variety will not be allowed to advertise itself. An example for this bills intention is Toronto's football team that currently advertises Poker Stars. Once the law is passed the football team will not be permitted to advertise any online casinos any more.
Canadian federal law bans Canadian companies from operating an online casino but the law is generally not enforced. The Ontario legislator is trying to help the federal government enforce laws against online casinos. The problem is that online casinos fall out of provincial jurisdiction. So what the legislator is doing is creating new consumer protection laws that are under jurisdiction of local government aimed at combating online casino use in Canada, or at least in Ontario. At this time, it is currently unclear if the bill will pass and what affect if any it will have on online casinos in the future.
